Formerly served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Piedmont Arts Association, a local affiliate of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Martinsville, Virginia; the Board of the Virginia Museum of Natural History Foundation, and as past president of the Charity League of Martinsville and Henry County. Previously served on the Board of Governors of the Young Lawyers Conference of the Virginia State Bar; as Vice President of the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys and on the Judiciary Committee of the Virginia Bar Association. Formerly served as President of the Danville Bar Association.
