Virginia Bar Association (Chairman, Young Lawyers Section, 1978; Member, Executive Committee, 1995-1998; Secretary, 1998); Danville Bar Association; American Bar Association; Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys (Member, Board of Directors, 1995-1997 and previously served as Regional Vice-President); and serves on the Board of Directors of Lawyers Helping Lawyers (a statewide organization established by the Virginia State Bar Association); Fellow, Virginia Bar Foundation and American Bar Foundation.

Community Involvement:
Currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Danville Science Center, the Lady Astor Preservation Trust and the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army of Danville, Board Chairman of the Womack Foundation, a local charitable foundation, and Member and Past President of the Danville Kiwanis Club. Past President of the Danville Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Danville-Pittsylvania County United Way and the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity and The Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History.
